Sponsored by Microsoft Azure, Accela’s flexible and open SaaS solutions provide local governments and state with technology in response to the COVID-19 pandemic through online services, remote workflows, and maintaining public health and safety.

Since Accela has over 20 years of gov-tech industry expertise, Vice President of Microsoft’s State and Local Government group Dana Barnes said, “Together with Accela, we are increasing value and opening new possibilities for governments to better serve their communities.”

The award is to recognize Accela’s leadership towards customer impact, the agility of deployment, solution innovation, and the use of outstanding features in Microsoft technologies that helps to solve challenges faced by Accela’s customers and their community members during this tough time. Here are a few Accela’s achievements with the help of Microsoft in the last year:

1. With the help of SaaS infrastructure and adequate knowledge of the government’s best practices, Accela quickly mobilized in response to COVID-19 along with its new Response Solutions to keep their operations running smoothly and maintain the citizens’ safety. These solutions were developed to help their customers re-open their businesses during the pandemic with the help of Microsoft Teams. Accela onboarded its existing customers to this new solution within 3 days and offered implementation for new agencies within 14 days

2. Accela launched its new Saas Upgrade Program to help state and local governments allowing it to easily move towards the cloud, boosting efficiency, scalability, and resiliency. This initiative is to help agencies transition from its previous systems to a flexible, purpose-built SaaS solution by Microsoft Azure as smoothly as possible

3. Accela strengthened its relationship with Microsoft and the tech giant Esri to help governments with cloud analytics and spatial data for making pro-active, data-driven decisions. This will help agencies in improving economic development and offer transparency to their citizens and save valuable time and resources.

Tom Nieto, the COO of Accela, expressed his delight and mentioned that Accela is extremely proud of being selected as the 2020 Microsoft US Partner Award Winner.
