Claudia Fulga has been appointed as the first Vice President of People at Iron Ox, a farming innovation corporation with solid expertise in plant science, robotic systems, and artificial intelligence.

Fulga will monitor the hiring process, retention, employee engagement, compensation, and HR operational processes, directly report to the Iron Ox CEO, and assisting as a member of the company’s senior leadership team. Iron Ox aims to recruit more senior executives in the months ahead as it expands its operational processes.

Iron Ox, which began independent farming in 2018, grows produce in specialized greenhouses built from scratch to reduce agriculture’s environmental effects — a data-driven strategy backed by plant science, robotics, and AI.

The closed-loop system maximizes crop quality while optimizing plant yield and growth cycles. As a result delicious, nutritionally balanced, locally sourced fruits and vegetables are produced with significantly reduced environmental effects. Iron Ox has farms in Northern California and recently broke ground in Lockhart, Texas, on a 535,000-square-foot indoor farm. Its yield can be found at Whole Foods and Bay Area markets like Bianchini’s and Mollie Stone’s throughout California. With the first harvest from the new Texas facility, sales outside of California are expected to start by the holiday breaks.

Fulga has a decade of experience in various industries, including academia and e-commerce, as a startup mentor, leader, top executive, and teacher. She is dedicated to internal culture and diversity for a long time, which will assist Iron Ox to succeed as it reaches a hyper-growth phase of recruitment and manufacturing.

To get them off this late-stage climate problem, they need to make agriculture carbon negative, stated Brandon Alexander, CEO, and Founder at Iron Ox. And for Iron Ox to accomplish its long-term objective, they need to set a new standard for employee recruitment, retention, encouragement, and fulfillment.  As they grow the business, culture is the most crucial factor, and Claudia’s proven cutting-edge experience will facilitate that.

Fulga was most recently a tech industry startup adviser for PeopleTech Partners, a San Francisco-based consultancy firm. She co-founded HR 2.0, a coaching networking group with nearly 1,000 HR professionals before that. She also worked as an adjunct professor and program adviser at San Francisco State University for over a decade.

Her strategy is to build a noteworthy, high-impact hiring and recruitment program while also assisting Iron Ox in maintaining its unique startup culture and close-knit camaraderie, commented Fulga. Brandon and his Co-Founders built a strong foundation, and now they need to scale up their culture for the hypergrowth phase.
