Lightspeed, a Montreal-based company, empowering small and medium-sized businesses with its eCommerce platforms, has recently added an accomplished technology CEO, Manon Brouillette, to its board of directors. Being an industry veteran, Brouillette brings to the table a plethora of valuable insights as well as a fresh perspective to Lightspeed as the company continues to deliver innovations in cloud-based technology for SMBs in the hospitality, retail, and golf industries.

Brouillette, in her prior role as CEO of Videotron, was responsible for leading a series of large-scale strategic rollouts. This included Videotron’s arrival into the wireless marketplace ($1B investment), making the company Canada’s most rapidly growing carrier, and transforming the cable television business model into a multiplatform, on-demand, and linear video service. Such a contribution led her to be acknowledged as one of Canada’s 100 Most Powerful Women.

Lightspeed’s Founder and CEO, Dax Dasilva, is excited to welcome Brouillette on board as she has extensive experience in establishing and growing technology leaders. According to Dasilva, Brouillette’s presence adds another imperative voice of leadership that will lead Lightspeed to new heights.

While talking about her newest role, Brouillette stated that she had been closely watching Lightspeed’s global operations and couldn’t be more ecstatic to join its board of directors. She is eager to support Lightspeed’s mission to help complex SMBs fast-track business expansion by adopting industry-best digital solutions, Brouillette concluded.

Lightspeed has recently entered into a definitive agreement to close the landmark acquisition of ShopKeep, a New York City-based cloud commerce platform provider. Furthermore, Lightspeed has launched innovations to aid SMBs as they future-proof their businesses. This includes the introduction of Lightspeed Subscriptions, a module that lets retailers gather recurring revenue, and Lightspeed Capital powered by Stripe. This resource delivers selected retailers with prompt and easy financing. Within hospitality, this includes Lightspeed eCom for Restaurant and  Lightspeed Order Ahead.
