FOX Sports has announced their collaboration with Google Cloud to automate the manual processes of logging, discovering and storing video assets. The program will use Google Cloud ‘s video search and advanced machine learning technologies to help the network and access the value of its massive sports content database more efficiently. The co-developed approach will enhance the network’s existing production. Utilizing Google Cloud ‘s open architecture and innovative technology, FOX Sports will be able to manage, explore and build on the petabytes of data and millions of videos it has accumulated over the years, in addition to the new content that is created every day.

Brad Zager, Executive Producer, EVP/Head of Production & Operations at FOX Sports said that, they are excited to partner with Google to take FOX Sports as the next step towards the most innovative workflow for access to all its media. It manages all the production of live events and all the plays, activities and creative services before and after the sports shows. It was great to see all the tools that Google Cloud provides the network to change the way it works, while making it so much easier for production teams to build content.

Thomas Kurian, CEO of Google Cloud said that, the new age of value creation and data-driven creativity in media and entertainment is opening up for machine learning. When an organization understands its audience, users and content better, it’s wonderful what companies can do with such results.
