Oracle Corporation announced that it has been chosen to be the cloud technology provider for TikTok. Oracle Public Cloud becomes the apparent choice for TikTok after the recent success of Zoom in moving a large part of its video conferencing capacity under Oracle.
According to Larry Ellison, CTO Oracle, TikTok picked Oracle’s new Generation 2 Cloud infrastructure, which is much faster, more reliable, and secure than the major cloud providers’ first-generation technology. IDC 2020 Industry CloudPath survey was conducted on 935 IaaS platforms such as Oracle, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, IBM, and Google Cloud to satisfy the top IaaS vendors, where Oracle stood out for receiving the highest satisfaction score, added Ellison.
Oracle CEO, Safra Catz, informed that TikTok would run on the Oracle Cloud, and it will become a minor investor in TikTok Global as a part of this agreement. Oracle will locate, rapidly scale, and operate its systems. The team is confident to deliver a highly secure environment and ensure data privacy to its users. He believes the guaranteed privacy will help to increase the growth of the TikTok community to benefit the stakeholders.
Oracle Generation 2 cloud was built from the ground with decades of experience securing the world’s most sensitive data to isolate running applications and autonomously respond to security threats fully. Combining its secure cloud technology with continuous code reviews, Oracle will monitor and audit to ensure that the U.S. TikTok users’ data is safe.
The Oracle Cloud offers a complete suite of integrated applications for Sales, Marketing, Service, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Finance, and Manufacturing, with Highly Automated and Secure Generation 2 Infrastructure featuring Oracle Autonomous Database.
