Super Micro Computer, Inc., a global front-runner in enterprise data storage computing, warehousing, networking, and green computing technology, announced the industry’s most comprehensive server league. It is power-packed with the new 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors, which offer superior efficiency while lowering TCO and total cost of ownership (TCE).

Charles Liang, President, and CEO of Supermicro, remarked that Supermicro is offering the most energy-efficient systems on the market, breaking the boundaries with new systems integrating the latest Intel processors. This new Hyper product line is designed for optimum performance, with high-speed memory of 32 DIMMs, four-layered high-performance GPUs, and up to 400 Gbit LAN to meet our customers’ most stringent needs. They collaborated closely with industry technology partners to provide a wide range of servers and storage systems designed for various workloads. It offers the best solutions, ranging from high-performance systems like Hyper and our Delta GPU deep learning optimized platform to cost-effective TCO optimized platforms like our new 2U 2-Node video streaming platform.

The 3rd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors are used in more than 100 application-optimized systems, besides Hyper, the Twin Product Family (BigTwin ®, TwinPro ®, and FatTwin ®), Ultra, CloudDC, GPU, Telco/5G, SuperBlade® and Edge servers. In the Ultra and Hyper platforms, the top-of-the-line Intel Xeon Platinum 8380 processor with 40 cores running at 2.3 GHz delivers industry-leading performance. The network-optimized CPUs are used in a broad range of 5G and embedded edge systems. Cloud Service Providers benefit from the Big Twin multi-node and SuperBlade systems’ simplicity and reliability with Intel Speed Select CPUs.

The single-processor WIO and storage systems also provide significant cost savings for general-purpose and storage applications. Water-cooled configurations for high-power CPUs in high-density systems in HPC installations with a direct liquid cooling option are included in the portfolio. It removes the disadvantages of conventional air-cooling for heat dissipation and lowering overall data center operating costs.

The 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors were created with true versatility in mind. They’re the only data center processors with AI acceleration built-in, and they’re designed to handle workloads from the Edge to the cloud.

Corporate Vice President and General Manager of the Xeon and Memory Group, Lisa Spelman, said that their collaboration with Supermicro enables creative IT providers from every sector. It provides high-quality services across all of these workloads, adapts rapidly, and delivers consistent results.

Supermicro has launched a portfolio of new GPU systems based on 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors to meet the growing demand for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. These systems take advantage of the two-fold increase in PCI-E 4.0 I/O to boost workload efficiency.

The portfolio includes highly optimized 4U 8 GPU systems for massive training workloads and 2U 2-Node single processor GPU systems for cloud gaming and streaming with increased power efficiency.

The Ultra-E, Hyper-E, and 2U UP 210P Edge servers are among the Supermicro X12 product lineup’s 5G edge-optimized systems. The high-performance Hyper-E meets challenging telco specifications, including NEBS Level 3 certification, short device depth, and front-accessible I/O while delivering unparalleled processing power and expansion capability.

Vice President of Technology Development, DISH, Sidd Chenumolu, remarked that Intel and Supermicro would help harness the power of next-generation networking from the center to the Edge as they create the nation’s first cloud-based 5G network.

Supermicro has already implemented systems with leading high-performance computing research organizations, such as the Cybermedia Center Osaka University, using Intel Xeon Scalable processor-based systems for the SQUID supercomputing system (Supercomputer for Quest to Unsolved Interdisciplinary Data science).
