American Solar Energy Society (ASES), the nation’s foremost association of solar professionals and advocates, and Solar United Neighbors (SUN), the only organization in the U.S. committed to representing the requirements and interests of solar owners and clean energy supporters, have decided to conduct the 2020 edition of the National Solar Tour completely virtual. The decision to hold the biggest annual grassroots solar event virtually was taken in the light of the Coronavirus pandemic, making it unsafe for communities to physically come together. RSVP for tour here.

Taking place from September 28th – October 4th, 2020, on nationalsolartour.org, these events and tours are all to set to empower individuals to learn more about solar technology and the process of going solar from their neighbors and people nationwide, all from the safety of their home. This National Solar Tour week is going to display live programs focusing on schools, homes, businesses, electric vehicles, and community built by using solar energy. It will also feature virtual tours of solar and sustainable homes, schools, businesses, religious institutions, and much more.

Formed in 1954, ASES is a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable living and 100% renewable energy. They do so by sharing information, events, and resources to cultivate community and power progress. Having 34 regional chapters, ASES combines the perspectives of science, industry, policy, and citizens to publish its award-winning magazine Solar Today, the e-newsletter Solar@Work for renewable energy professionals and conducts monthly webinars for the ASES Webinar Series. Additionally, it hosts the ASES National Solar Conference, which is going to take place on August 3rd – 6th, 2021, in Boulder, Colorado, for its 50th anniversary.

Established in 2007, Solar United Neighbors enables people to go solar, join together, and fight for their energy rights. Every year, this organizations helps thousands of individuals to go solar not only through its bulk purchase groups called “solar co-ops,” but also via paid membership programs. Members get a continuous support in researching and purchasing solar, enjoy discounts and supervision on system maintenance and join a community of solar supporters fighting to make sure that their investment in solar is secured.
