Wipro announced a five-year agreement to transform Sweden-based truck manufacturer Scania’s digital workplace services and assist it in its journey toward sustainable transportation solutions.
According to an exchange filing, Wipro will provide automation and real-time analytics to help Scania employees create a future-ready workplace. Wipro’s Live Workspace will power this journey managed services solution. The automaker currently employs 54,000 people in over 100 countries.
According to the filing, the deal was mentioned in Wipro’s press release, which was attached along with financial results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2022, without naming the customer or detailing the tenure and size of the deal.
Because the collaboration is based on a shared foundation in how both companies emphasize sustainable development and ethics, it is with great delight that they contribute to Scania’s position as the leading accelerator of sustainable development of transportation solutions, stated Vinay Firake, Senior Vice President and Managing Director (Nordics) at Wipro.
To achieve speed and flexibility in driving the shift to sustainable transportation solutions, Scania requires a premium and outstanding digital workplace experience that empowers each individual and allows them to contribute to their full potential, stated Jan Andries Oldenkamp, CIO at Scania. Wipro will use its ecosystem of local and global partners to digitize Scania’s services as part of the partnership.
