Zocket, an Indian software-as-a-service (SaaS) firm, has secured $3 million from Kalaari Capital in a fundraising round. Kettleborough Venture Capital, an early-stage investor, and Jasminder Singh Gulati, the creator of NowFloats, both participated in the investment round.

Zocket intends to use the funds generated to build a full-fledged AdTech solution for small and medium businesses (SMBs).

They want to see many small businesses succeed, and they will help them do so in the digital realm.  As a result, in the next 12-18 months, they want to bring more vernacular language to the front-end of the Zocket app, stated Karthik Venkateswaran, Co-Founder and CEO of Zocket.

Venkateswaran went on to say that the new funds will be split evenly between recruiting good people and establishing a strong product and brand.  In the coming year, the company intends to add more employees.  They are planning to hire professionals for the product development team, data scientists, and the engineering and product supply team.

Zocket, founded in 2021 by Venkateswaran, Nandha Kumar Ravi, Sundar Natesan, and Mukund Srivathsan, plans to take its solution to worldwide SMBs to capture a substantial portion of the $700 billion global ad expenditure market.

With Zocket, they expect at least 90% of India’s 70 million SMBs to go online and boost their digital presence, whereas the current figure is about 4-5 percent, added Venkateswaran.

Zocket secured $0.5 million in September of last year, just a few months after launching; Venkateswaran believes that VCs shifting their focus to early-stage funding could help Indian digital startups develop faster.

As business owners travel up the digital hierarchy stack, they believe the next significant upheaval in SMB Tech adoption will be in the digital discovery layer, stated Vani Kola, Managing Director of Kalaari Capital.

They are ecstatic to be partnering with Zocket as they build an end-to-end tech platform for global SMBs that allows them to create instant content, publish across many platforms, and optimize ad expenditure for the best return on investment, remarked Kola.
